Here’s a bit more about Rose:

Hello fantastic crocheters and readers, I am thankful for the chance to be on the Designer Showcase on the Moogly blog; I think that name should be trademarked. Lol! (I mean that in a good way). When I first thought to start writing patterns in 2017, Moogly was my reference point. I was relatively new to crochet, understood the basics, and was aiming for more knowledge. I would often come to Moogly blog and read the patterns row for row and frame my patterns in a similar way. Who better to learn from than a professional in the field, and I did learn a lot.

My name is Rose Obomighie, Obom for short, and I am a sister, friend, mother, wife, crochet designer, pattern writer, crochet blogger, YouTuber, and lifelong learner. I indulge in tea a lot and would try as many varieties as I can lay my hand on, I’m fortunate to have friends who are always giving me new ones to try. I also enjoy writing letters and whimsical notes to friends and acquaintances.

One of the things I like about crochet is the power it gives each and every crocheter to create something. It does not matter whether you are using someone else’s pattern or creating by heart, the fact that a person can put hook to yarn and make something is truly amazing, and THAT is what keeps me crocheting. Crochet is therapy and I feel very blessed to have the skill and knowledge to create with a hook and yarn.

My crochet journey has been adventurous, even though there were times I felt very lost and alone in the journey, I have also persevered, found purpose, and met some fantastic and supportive designers. I started my first blog in 2017 called loopinglymade, which later got changed to craft-her. The name change still did not make me feel better about my designs. One day, I decided to start all over again, thus I started a new blog- Yarn Craftee. Here, the designs I share are true and close to my heart, most of the patterns are new, and some are updates from my previous blog. My designs may not always have a story, but they are like a testament to me that even if I fail, I can try again and learn from my failures.

And that’s a message I would like to pass on as you read this post. I hope that as you crochet; make mistakes, rip out a few or many rows of stitches that you are learning something new and that your skills will improve as you persevere to finish that project. I know it sounds corny, but this craft is full of emotion- the joy and pride you feel after a completed project is divine! Isn’t it?
