Hello, my beautiful blossom! Today, I have an extraordinary, gobsmackingly beautiful shawl pattern for you. This stunningly lacy, knitted design will add an elegant touch to your wardrobe. I hope you’ll keep reading to find out all about this lovely pattern!

Let the Exquisitely Lacy, Knitted Ispirazione Shawl Inspire You Today! – Expression Fiber Arts | A Positive Twist on Yarn

Ispirazione was designed by Emily O’Dell. When asked about her pattern, Emily said, “Ispirazione means ‘inspiration’ in Italian. This shawl was inspired by the many brilliant designers with Expression Fiber Arts. Their beautiful creations motivated me to be a better and more creative designer. This shawl is constructed with increase rows and beautiful, yet simple textured stitches throughout. The placement of these stitches is what gives this shawl the delicate and flowing look of elegance. This shawl is truly a joy to knit, and I hope you have as much fun knitting it as I did creating it.”

This Advanced level pattern is for the adventurous knitter who loves to tackle something a bit more complicated. Skills/concepts include marling, color changes, lace stitches, gauge, and yarn usage.

Ispirazione is knitted with our gorgeous Alpaca Silk Lace yarn, which is a heavenly, dreamy blend of 50% Baby Alpaca and 50% Mulberry Silk that’s warm and soft with a gorgeous drape and a shimmery glow. When you combine alpaca with silk, you get a yarn that is pure luxury and a joy to work with. Although this yarn is a lace-weight yarn, it’s more like a light fingering, which makes it easy to knit and crochet with in all your favorite projects. With a generous 604 yds/552 m per skein, just a few skeins are enough for most projects.

We used our Fly Away Hues Alpaca Silk Lace Kit to knit the sample shown here [604 yds/552 m per skein (3,020 yds 2,760 m per kit)]. The sample shown used approximately 2,905 yds / 2,656 m total: Color A: 583 yds / 533 m, Color B: 584 yds / 534 m, Color C: 567 yds / 518 m, Color D: 584 yds / 534 m, and Color E: 587 yds / 537 m.

We made a video tutorial showing how to hand-wind a center-pull ball of yarn. Take a look!
