Hello, sweet soul! Today, I have a gorgeous, lacy, knitted shawl pattern to share with you! I just love this shimmery, elegant design, and I think you will, too! Keep reading for all the lovely details!
Bridges of Venice was designed by Padma R. When asked about her debut pattern for Expression Fiber Arts, Padma said, “Wrap yourself in the luxurious elegance of lace! This generously-sized shawl is both practical and pretty. The three-triangle construction ensures that the shawl stays securely on your shoulders and offers adequate coverage for your arms.”
“In the body of the shawl, curved textural rows overhang the graceful lace motifs and travel between lines of eyelets, which bring to mind Venetian bridges that cross over the Grand Canal and its tributaries. Lace patterning and shaping occur only on right side rows, making this a relaxing project.”
This Intermediate to Advanced level pattern is for the adventurous knitter who loves to tackle something a bit more complicated. Skills/concepts include increases, decreases, lace stitches, and single twisted stitches.
Bridges of Venice is knitted with our soft and silky Moongleam Fingering yarn, which is a delectable blend of 50% Cotton and 50% Mulberry Silk. Just heavenly! Moongleam Fingering is a 2-ply, fingering weight yarn that is glowing and buttery and perfect for a variety of projects. Shawls and scarves are fantastic, as are sweaters, blankets, home items, and more! Breathable and light and amazing for warmer climates with 437 yds (400 m) per skein.
The sample shown here was made with our Spiced Hues Moongleam Fingering Kit [437 yds/400 m per skein (1748 yds/1600 m per four-skein kit)] and used approximately 1211 yds/1108 m total: Color A: 302 yds/276 m, Color B: 275 yds/252 m, Color C: 262 yds/240 m, and Color D: 372 yds/340 m.
