Hello, sweet soul! Today, I have an absolutely beautiful, knitted shawl to tell you all about. I think you’re going to adore the lacy Chances shawl, so I hope you’ll keep reading for all the delightful details!

Knit the Totally Stunning, Lacy Chances Shawl Today! – Expression Fiber Arts | A Positive Twist on Yarn

Chances was originally designed by Kristina Smiley and has been updated by the Expression Fiber Arts Design Team. Versatile and beautiful, this shawl is knit with alternating sections of Garter Stitch and Horseshoe Lace. Knit from the top down using the Garter Tab Cast On method, Chances is a quick and simple knit shawl that is perfect for wrapping yourself in softness, while still being stylish enough for an evening on the town.

This is an Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate level pattern and is perfect for knitters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Skills/concepts include basic lace, color changes, and blocking. This pattern includes written and charted instructions and comes with a stitch count table.

The updated version of Chances is knitted with our sumptuous Yak Silk Lace yarn, which is pure luxury! When yak is combined with silk, you get an amazingly soft, lustrous, silky, saturated yarn that is impossible to ignore! Yak Silk Lace is a luscious, 2-ply blend of 50% ultra-soft yak down fiber and 50% lustrous silk. It’s buttery, creamy to the touch, and shimmery with dreamlike softness. Colors dyed onto this yarn base are rich, saturated, and bold. Perfect for sensual, soft shawls, scarves, baby clothes, socks, hats, and whatever you desire! Hold it double for projects requiring a thicker yarn. Projects made with Yak Silk Lace will be adored and treasured for years on end, and it’s loaded with yardage with 680 yds/630 m per skein!

The updated sample shown here was knitted with colors Leo Confidence Yak Silk Lace (MC) and Lion Yak Silk Lace (CC) and used approximately 1200 yds (1097 m) total: A) 600 yds (548.5 m) and B) 600 yds (548.5 m). The yarn is held double throughout in this version.

The original version of Chances was knitted with our lovely Sincere Sock yarn. It’s a delightfully soft, fingering-weight treasure that feels like a gentle hug in your hands. Spun from a scrumptious blend of 75% Superwash Merino Wool and 25% Nylon, this yarn offers that perfect balance of cozy softness and lasting durability. No scratchiness, no fuss, just pure comfort! It’s machine-washable (although we always recommend hand-washing your projects), and the way it soaks up color? Absolutely gorgeous! The shades are vibrant, rich, and radiant. With a 3-ply construction for lovely stitch definition and cloud-like squish, this yarn is a dream to work with. Each skein gives you 437 yds/400 m to play with and is perfect for anything your heart can dream up!

The original sample shown here was knitted with one skein of Beauty From Ashes Sincere Sock (MC) and one skein of Restored Sincere Sock (CC).
