Hello, beautiful! Today, I have a cozy, cuddly knitted hat pattern for you that is just cute as a button! I hope you’ll keep reading to learn all about it!
The Petal hat was designed by J. Miyo. When asked about this design, J. said, “Petal is a bulky knit beanie with the option for either a fitted or slouchy silhouette. Inspired by petals falling in Spring, the pattern texture features a petal-like stitch that is placed more densely at the base of the beanie and gradually scatters as the beanie progresses. Using one skein of Buttery Bulky, this is a quick knit that incorporates enough variation in stitches to maintain your interest while knitting. To make the petal stitches stand out more, try using scrap yarn for the petal rows.”
This Intermediate level pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include working in the round, various decrease stitches, and special pattern stitch.
Petal is knitted with our yummy Buttery Bulky yarn. Soft, squishy, and delightfully bouncy, this yarn is made from 100% Superwash Superfine Merino Wool. No itch, no scratch, just pure, cuddly comfort! Each plump, two-ply strand blooms into stitches that are full, cozy, and beautifully defined, like tiny pillows of warmth nestled together. Buttery Bulky works up quickly into snuggly sweaters, chunky scarves, and wrap-me-up blankets that feel like the coziest winter hug. Each squishable skein offers 120 yds/110 m of soft, cloud-like bliss to keep your hands and heart warm all season long.
Petal comes in two sizes: Adult Small and Large, which correspond to circumferences of Circumference: 17.25″ (44 cm) / 19.75″ (50 cm). One skein of Buttery Bulky is needed for either size. If you want to make a slouchy hat, you may need a second skein. Our version was made with Rose Gold Buttery Bulky.
The pattern includes written instructions, as well as a schematic.
