Join Us for Our 2026 Spring Crochet Along (CAL) Today – Bouquet – Expression Fiber Arts | A Positive Twist on Yarn

Hello, my sweet friend! I’m so excited to announce our 2026 Spring Crochet and Read Along! We’ll join together on Ravelry to crochet the Bouquet pattern, which is a gorgeous, floral lap blanket, and also read Vanessa Diffenbaugh’s The Language of Flowers together. Plus, there will be prizes at the end of our event, so I hope you’ll keep reading to learn how you can sign up and join in on all the fun!

Our featured pattern for the Spring Crochet and Read Along is Bouquet, which was designed by Carolyn Currier. When asked about her pattern, Carolyn said, “In the Victorian language of flowers, bouquets were more than beautiful arrangements. They carried messages, whispered through petals and carefully chosen stems. I love to think that our crochet projects do something similar. Each stitch becomes a small note of intention, worked slowly, lovingly, and with meaning.”

“The lily speaks of majesty, devotion, and quiet inner strength. The Bouquet pattern takes its cue from that symbolism, echoing the soft curve of petals in each six-pointed motif. As you build this blanket one stitch at a time, may it become its own message, whether you’re making it as a gift or as something soft and comforting for yourself. I hope it reminds you of the quiet majesty in creation, and the beauty that grows every time we choose to sit down, breathe, and make something with our hands.”

This is an Intermediate level design and is for those who feel comfortable with crocheting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Stitches/skills include: ch, sc, hdc, dc, tr, BPdc, and working into a Magic Ring and back loop. This pattern includes written instructions only, as well as a schematic.

Bouquet is crocheted with our new Secret Language of Flowers Collection, which was inspired by the beautiful Victorian tradition of using flowers to send hidden messages. Each color in this series is rooted in the meaning of a different bloom — love, hope, remembrance, courage, joy, tenderness, and so much more. It’s a story told in petals and pigment, where every skein whispers something heartfelt and true.

The Bouquet blanket is made with our Pearlescent Worsted yarn. Our delightfully soft, single-ply Pearlescent Worsted yarn base is shimmery, heavenly, and luscious and is a 50:50 blend of Superwash Merino Wool and Mulberry Silk. Smooth with a gorgeous gleam, it’s a dreamy yarn that’s ideal for next-to-skin accessories like cowls, shawls, scarves, hats, and more! Unbelievably soft with a lovely drape and a shine that just won’t quit!

The sample shown here was crocheted with one Secret Language of Flowers Pearlescent Worsted Full-Size Kit and two full-sized skeins of Whipped Cream Pearlescent Worsted. The sample used approximately 2,130 yds / 1,950 m total: Color A: 200 yds / 183 m, Color B: 185 yds / 169 m, Color C: 185 yds / 169 m, Color D: 190 yds / 174 m, Color E: 185 yds / 169 m, Color F: 185 yds / 169 m, Color G: 190 yds / 174 m, Color H: 185 yds / 169 m, Color I: 185 yds / 169 m, and Color J: 440 yds / 402 m.

The colors were used in the following order: A) Midnight Heliotrope, B) Ivy Embrace, C) Honeysuckle Haze, D) Flaxen Sky, E) Lilac Awakening, F) English Rose, G) Carnation Charm, H) Geranium Glow, I) Crimson Camellia, and J) Whipped Cream.
