Hello, my delightful daisy! Today, I have a sweet, textured crochet shawl to share with you. I know you’re going to love making this stunning design! Keep reading to learn all about it!
Dolyn was designed by Janica York Carter. When asked about this pattern, Janica said, “Dolyn is a relaxing, but engaging crochet shawl with a sampling of stitch patterns that change periodically. It begins with single crochet ribbing in two colors, followed by a brief section of simple lace in one color. The next section returns to stripes with rows of double crochet interspersed with small puff stitches. A band featuring front-post and long double crochet stitches simulates a corrugated ribbing before ending with double crochet bobble stripes and a picot bind-off.”
This is an Adventurous Beginner level pattern that is perfect for crocheters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Stitches include single and double crochet stitches, simple puff and bobble stitches, front post and long double crochet stitches.
- Sea Breeze Prismatic Fingering
- Shiplap Prismatic Fingering
Dolyn is crocheted with our divine Prismatic Fingering yarn. This dazzling, luxury yarn is pure magic in a skein! With each of its three plies spun from a different fiber—Mulberry Silk, Merino Wool, and Superwash Merino Wool—Prismatic Fingering features a stunning, soft, candy-striped effect that’s subtle yet full of dimension. The way each fiber takes dye differently adds depth and character to every colorway, making your finished projects truly one-of-a-kind. This yarn is soft, supple, and boasts an elegant drape with a gentle gleam that feels like a dream against your skin. With 450 yds/411 m per skein, this yarn is perfect for everything from breathtaking shawls to cozy blankets and everything in between. Prismatic Fingering is the ultimate treat for fiber lovers who crave beauty and luxury in every stitch!
We used two skeins each of Sea Breeze Prismatic Fingering and Shiplap Prismatic Fingering to make the sample shown here. It used approximately 1,045 yards/955 m total [A) 545 yds/498 m and B) 500 yds/457 m].
We made a video tutorial showing how to work the special stitches featured in this pattern. Take a look!
