Hello, my bright light! Today, I have a wonderfully cozy, crochet sweater pattern to tell you about! We’ve had so many requests for men’s sweater patterns, and this week’s design Allyn is the men’s version of the previously released Aelinn sweater pattern. Keep reading to learn all about this week’s snuggly sweater!
Allyn was designed by Michelle Ferguson. When asked about her pattern, Michelle said, “The Allyn Sweater is a simple men’s pullover with a ribbed trim around the bottom, top, and sleeves. It has a simple, yet wonderfully textured stitch combo. The name Allyn means ‘handsome’ in Irish. Be sure to check out its sister sweater for women, the Aelinn Sweater!”
This Intermediate level pattern is for those who feel comfortable with crocheting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include garment sizing and construction.
Allyn is crocheted with our Dewy DK yarn, which is perfect for items you want to cherish for years or share with a loved one as a heartfelt gift. Dewy DK is a beautiful yarn that’s luscious and supremely soft with a gorgeous drape, amazing structure, and a subtle gleam. This yarn is a blend of 70% Superwash Merino Wool, 20% Nylon, and 10% Silk with 250 yds/320 m per skein.
Allyn is offered in eight sizes, ranging from Small to 5X. You will need approximately 1,742 (1,925, 2,109, 2,292) (2,475, 2,659, 2,842, 2,934) yards or 7 (8, 9, 10) (10, 11, 12, 12) skeins of Dewy DK yarn based on the size you choose. The finished pullover is designed to be worn with 2 – 4” of positive ease.
The sample shown here was crocheted with Evergreen Dewy DK and is a size Small, shown modeled on a 35″ chest with 3″ of positive ease.
We filmed a video in which I give some tips on how to choose the best colors that work with your wardrobe and skin tone. Take a look!
