The Details

My Notes: Rhondda has created a wonderful design, perfect for accommodating everyone’s gauge! The stitches are great for beginners, and the effect is pleasing to all. There’s a video tutorial to help and lots of great pictures, as well as a chart. Be sure to read all the Notes before you begin – there’s a lot of super important info there!

Helpful Links and Tutorials: Back Loop Only and Front Loop Only, Treble Crochet, Standing Single Crochet, and Seamless Finishing.

Sizing: My square was coming out a bit large, so I skipped Rnds 19 and 20.  But everyone’s gauge is different so be sure to measure as you go! Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.

What I Did: I used a Susan Bates US-J, 6.0 mm Twist and Lock hook, and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows (see pics for more info on placement):

Rnd 1 and 2: Light Gray
Rnd 3 and all Color B (odd) Rnds:
White
Rnd 4:
Pewter
Rnd 6:
Light Gray
Rnd 8:
Pewter
Rnd 10:
Light Gray
Rnd 12:
Pewter
Rnd 14:
Light Gray
Rnd 16:
Pewter
Rnd 18:
Light Gray

This square required mild blocking. I used the wet blocking method, or you could use light steam.
