Knitting Fever Twilight Haze Kit Giveaway

Knitting Fever Twilight Haze Giveaway

The Twilight Haze Scarf was such a joy to crochet, using Juniper Moon Farm Iris and a lovely pink LYKKE crochet hook! In fact, I loved it so much I reached out to their distributor, Knitting Fever. And they agreed to give away two skeins of Iris and the hook to make the scarf to three very lucky winners on Moogly!

I got caught in a Twilight Haze…

Earlier this year I was gifted a few skeins of Juniper Moon Farm Iris yarn. Each was gorgeous, but the Romantic Sunset colorway was calling to me! It is light, airy, colorful, and so unique. I sat down with this yarn and a LYKKE Blush 8mm crochet hook – and it’s like the Twilight Haze Scarf was hiding inside, just waiting to come out!

Both the yarn and the hook were a joy to use, and I love the one skein scarf I created. So I reached out to Knitting Fever to see if they would like to giveaway a skein in a Moogly giveaway. But they decided to be extra generous – and giveaway TWO skeins of Juniper Moon Farm Iris yarn in Romantic Sunset PLUS an 8mm LYKKE crochet hook – to 3 lucky winners! So you can make the scarf (twice!) or choose an even larger project!

First, we have a quick look at this yarn and hook, then on to the giveaway itself!

Juniper Moon Farm Iris

Juniper Moon Farm Iris is a 4-Medium or worsted wieight yarn, that is made with 70% Suri Alpaca, 20% Mulberry Silk, and 10% Merino Wool. Each skein is 100 grams, and 437 yards! That yardage is about twice what you’d expect for a medium weight skein of 100 grams – which means that anything you make with this yarn will be feather light.

Here is how they describe it on the site: “Iris is something out of a fairytale. A luxurious blend of suri alpaca, mulberry silk, & superfine wool raised ethically in Argentina and designed in Tuscany. The soft hues & bushy texture set the tone for a different kind of garment. Reminiscent of cotton candy with its creamy self-striping colorways. See the Beauty, With Iris.”

I was lucky enough to spot a sweater made with this yarn while I was at a trade show earlier this year, and I was even more impressed. This yarn is a little tricky to work with – the fuzz can make it more difficult to see your stitches, and the alpaca makes frogging a little bit trying. But if you take your time with it, it will pay off – a truly unique yarn to add to your collection!

LYKKE Blush Crochet Hooks

I’m only just getting to know LYKKE Crochet Hooks, but I’m liking what I’ve seen so far! This is the first project I’ve made using one of their hooks, and it was lovely to use. The wood is super smooth, and the long straight shaft makes it easy to maintain an even tension – even when working with a special yarn like this one!

I love that the size is stamped into metal on the bottom, so I know it won’t wear away over time. And the bright pink color isn’t just cheerful – it makes it a lot easier to find the hook in my project bag! I really like this message from the LYKKE brand:

“Named after the Norwegian word forΒ happiness,Β LYKKE CraftsΒ combine high quality materials and thoughtful design to produce beautiful, durable,Β happy-making knitting needles. Our beautiful needles and hooks are handcrafted and assembled. Our production routines do not rely on mechanized automation. Instead, our products benefit from the skilled and graceful touch of fine local craftspeople. We value the opportunity to employ this growing community of skilled craftspeople and happily embrace the natural, human pace of production. As customers of LYKKE Crafts, we thank you too, for your patience and support.”

It’s so great to be able to support skilled artisans and handmade – and to offer this wonderful giveaway!
