Crochet This Adorable Summer Tank Today – Wicker – Expression Fiber Arts | A Positive Twist on Yarn

Hello, my lil’ chickadee! This week, I have a cute-as-a-button, summery crochet tank top with a fun, textured look to tell you about! Wicker is absolutely perfect for warm, sunny days! I hope you’ll keep reading to learn all about it.

Crochet This Adorable Summer Tank Today – Wicker – Expression Fiber Arts | A Positive Twist on Yarn

Wicker was designed by Wardah Mhd. When asked about this pattern, Wardah said, “I was sitting on the beach admiring the waves with my yarn in hand wondering about my next project, when a traditional hawker approached me with wicker baskets. The alternation of their blending waves inspired me to make a wicker-mimicking crochet project. She offered me a wicker basket for my yarn, and from there, I started the Wicker Tank! This adorable tank can be worn by itself or over a blouse for a fun, layered look.”

This Advanced level pattern is for the crocheter who loves to tackle something a bit more complicated. Skills/concepts include garment sizing, seaming, post stitches, working stitches out of order, applying snap button closures, and alternating skeins throughout project to maintain color consistency.

Wicker is crocheted with our luxurious Wishglow Sport yarn, which is a heavenly, delectable blend of 50% Superwash Fine Merino Wool (19.5 micron) and 50% Mulberry Silk that’s unbelievably soft with a dreamy, shimmering glow. Light and airy, this yarn is perfect for flowing shawls, super soft garments, silky accessories, and more! This two-ply yarn has 383 yds/350 m per 100-gram skein. A joy to work with and wear! Supple and shining with beautiful stitch definition!

The pattern is offered in sizes (XS, S, M) (L, XL, 2XL), which correspond to actual bust sizes of XS: 24-26’’; S: 28-30’’; M: 32-34”; L: 36-38”; XL: 40-42”; 2XL: 44-46”. The finished tank top will have 1”- 3″ of positive ease.

You will need (2, 2, 3) (3, 4, 4) skeins of Wishglow Sport, depending on the size you crochet. The sample shown here was made with our Ephemera Wishglow Sport yarn.

We made a video tutorial showing how to crochet the special stitches featured in this pattern. Grab your hook and some yarn, and follow along with me!
