Petra Tou Romiou was designed by Pam Meek. When asked about the inspiration for her pattern, Pam said, “Petra tou Romiou is a rock formation along the southwestern coast of the island of Cyprus, and it is one of my favorite sites to see and visit. This rock is said to be the birthplace of the Greek goddess Aphrodite. According to Greek mythology, Aphrodite stepped out of the sea foam onto the rocky beach. Seashells are sacred to Aphrodite, and the beads in this design reminded me of the beautiful pebbles on the shore.”

“This pattern is offered in two versions: a beginner version without beads and an intermediate version, shown with beads and a beaded trim. As you crochet, I hope you are transported to a place where you love to relax and feel at ease.”

This is a Beginner (optional) and Intermediate level pattern that is perfect for those who feel comfortable crocheting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include basic crochet stitches, color changes, carrying yarn along edge, applying beads mid-stitch (optional), foundation single crochet (optional), and working into the sides of stitches to apply trim.
