A Bit About the Author
I “met” Olena on Instagram, where her adorable patterns caught my eye! So I’m super excited to share her first book with all of you today! Here’s her author blurb:
“Olena is a crochet designer and the founder of her blog, GoldenLucyCrafts. She discovered her passion for handmade items at a young age while growing up in Ukraine. Inspired by the beautiful creations made by her mother, who taught her how to crochet, Olena developed a deep love for the craft.
In 2012, Olena designed her very first crochet pattern and has been creating unique pieces ever since.
The name GoldenLucyCrafts is a loving tribute to her early years of designing, during which her loyal Golden Retriever, Lucy, was often by her side.
Today, Olena lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her husband, their son, and their current Golden Retriever, Hazel.

It’s about 80 pages long, and includes a section on materials as well as the stitches featured in this book.
The patterns are all made with easy-to-find yarns, all #4 worsted acrylics. The patterns themselves are well written and easy to follow, and the large full color photos are super helpful.
One thing I really like about Olena’s book is how she formatted the pages. The letters are big and easy to read – no tiny cramped fonts here! She has also included colorwork charts where appropriate!
Overall, Crochet Snow Globes is a wonderful way to collect 13 super fun patterns to make and display year-round! Olena’s work is so fun and festive – great for home and gifting, and even craft fairs!
