March is here, with a hint of spring and fresh creative energy – must be time for another Crochet and Catch Up on Moogly! Let’s settle in for some cozy yarn chat as we check in on current WIPs, share new patterns, and talk about what’s coming up next. Sneak Peek: The March Month-Long CAL!
We’re kicking off a new month-long crochet along here on Moogly starting March 9th! We’ll be making an asymmetrical shawl, in one piece, with no seaming.
What I Used: I made this shawl using a US-H, 5.0 mm crochet hook by Furls, and 2 balls of Concept by Katia 4-ply Symetric Socks + More Illusion yarn, and some stitch markers
What You’ll Need: Your favorite US-H, 5.0 mm crochet hook, and 620 yards of Fingering or Sport weight yarn just waiting to be stitched! Note that Katia lists the yarn I used as a Sport, but Ravelry lists it as a Fingering weight. The great thing about this shawl is that either weight of yarn should work, so find your favorite in either 1 or 2 weight. Self-striping is particularly fun!
Important Dates: The pattern will be released over 4 Mondays – March 9, 16, 23, and 30. The video tutorials for each section go live the next day (Tuesdays: March 10, 17, 24, 31).
How to Join: Just follow Moogly here on the blog or on your favorite social media, or sign up for the free weekly email newsletter! There is nowhere to sign up specifically for the CAL, and there are no deadlines – just fun!
Moogly Around the Web – and the World!
March 11 – 13: I’m excited to share that I’ll be speaking at the Crochet Business Summit: Online Profits Edition! This free, 3-day online event is designed specifically for crochet business owners who want to build a profitable, sustainable business without burnout, hustle culture, or tech overwhelm.
Want to see me in person in 2026?
May 1 – 2: I will be teaching four classes at the new Fiber and Fabric Craft Festival in Chicago – one on Friday, and three on Saturday!
If you have a LYS or event you’d like me to teach at this year, or if you would like me to teach an online class to your group or guild, please do reach out!
Have a wonderful day all – see you to crochet and catch up next time! And before you go, here’s a Pin for today’s post, so you can add it to your favorite Pinterest boards! We appreciate (and need) your shares on all our posts.
