Crochet Sweet Memories Blanket

Sweet Memories are a wonderful thing.Β  I think as humans, we can take special memories and moments in our life and embrace them just as if we were wrapped in a warm, crocheted blanket.

So, whenever I see the colors purple and teal together, I immediately have sweet memories of my only sister.Β  Today, I remember with love all the moments we shared together.Β  It’s been 14 years since I was able to hold her and I still miss her deeply.Β  Teal and purple were β€œher colors”.Β  She was a strong person and really laid claim to the beautiful color combo as her life was decorated in these colors.Β  She was 15 years older than me and probably the biggest influence to who I am today.

This summer has been very challenging for me personally.Β  I was bordering on depression about a week ago, the teal and purple yarns came to me as I was trying to be inspired to do some crocheting.Β  From the moment that I held the yarn close, I felt the warmth and love already passing through.Β  I crocheted this blanket in 3 days and although the pattern is maybe not super special, to me this might be my favorite project ever.Β  It reminds me to hold my head high, stay strong and keep smiling… just as my sister Cat always taught me.

So if a color or color combo reminds you of a special person or strikes a memory, consider using it to create your own crocheted blanket to wrap yourself into your own Sweet Memory.
