Hello, beautiful! This week, I have an elegant, crochet cardigan pattern that I think you’re going to adore! Keep reading to learn more about this delightful design!
Nefru was designed by Esraa Riyad. When asked about her debut pattern for Expression Fiber Arts, Esraa said, “Inspired by the graceful silhouettes of ancient Egyptian royalty, the Nefru Cardigan is a modern masterpiece that radiates timeless elegance. Its open design and flowing drape are reminiscent of the luxurious robes once worn by pharaohs, blending simplicity and sophistication in perfect harmony.”
“The cardigan is worked flat in one piece, sideways from side to side, forming a large U-shaped body panel. Once the panel is complete, it is folded in half and partially seamed along the sides, leaving openings for short sleeves. A simple finishing row is added around the bottom edge, front opening, and sleeve hems for a clean, polished look.”
This Intermediate level pattern is for crocheters who feel comfortable with crocheting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include foundation half double crochet, herringbone half double crochet, garment shaping, and construction.

Luster Sport is a blend of 50% Superwash Merino Wool and 50% Lyocell, a plant fiber that provides the glow of silk without the price, and the shine is out-of-this-world stunning! Luster Sport has 395 yds/361 m per full-sized skein.
The Nefru cardigan is offered in sizes XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL), which correspond to natural bust sizes: 30 (34, 38, 42, 46) (50, 54, 58, 62)” / 76 (86, 96.5, 106.5, 117) (127, 137, 147.5, 157.5) cm. Nefru is designed to be worn with 8” (20 cm) of positive ease.
You’ll need 3 – 5 skeins of Luster Sport yarn to crochet this pattern. We used Silvery Seas Luster Sport for the sample shown here, which is a size Small that is modeled on a 34” (86 cm bust).
