Sweaters can be made from any yarn weight, from super fine to super bulky. Most crochet patterns will list the yarn used in the pattern. If you can’t find that particular yarn or want to use something you already have, make sure you match the suggested weight.

Stitch Markers and Row Counters
Working on big projects it’s bound to happen that you will lose track of your rows and stitches, so having stitch markers and row counters are a big help for keeping track of where you are.
Stitch markers are great to mark the beginning or end of rows or rounds, and a row counter can help you keep track if you need to do increases or decreases every certain number of rows.
Crochet Stitches You Need to Know for Crochet Sweaters
Crochet sweaters, like many other projects, generally require the knowledge of the six basic crochet stitches: The chain stitch (ch), single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc), half double crochet (hdc), treble crochet (tr), and slip stitch (ss) are commonly used in many patterns.
